Our Story

Based in Waco, Tx., Beyond Jordan is a contemporary Christian group known especially for their unique a cappella sound as well as their variety in music selection that blends the classic with the new. This vocal trio feels truly blessed to be able to use their passion for music to share their faith and love for Christ in worship with others. You will be encouraged by their lyrics and moved by their sound.

Beyond Jordan has been singing together since January 2006. Kelli, Nikki and Tara were all approached independently about joining a Contemporary Christian female vocal group by David Pendergrass. If you ask David, he'll tell you he "just knew" our voices would blend. He was right. So thanks to his vision and leadership 3 young women who had never sung together before have been a singing group for 4 years now. Music has played a very important part in all of our lives since we were young and we are thrilled to be able to use our love of music and ability to sing in a way that glorifies our God. We are excited about the many opportunities we've had to grow already and look forward with anticipation to the ways God will continue to use us to minister in the years to come.

David, we are so grateful that you had both the desire and the vision to form a female Christian vocal group and that you were faithful to see it through.

Our marathon practices are such great memories and it was amazing how quickly we all felt like family, until you moved off to Houston of course. :) Seriously, you are a major part of our group. Your incredible talent, patience and leadership brings out the best in our singing practices as well as our performances. We couldn't do it without you and will welcome you back to Waco anytime.

Thank you so much for all the support you've shown us this past year and thank you in advance for the part you will play in our future. Thank you for writing and arranging such beautiful music, for your prayers and also for your overall enthusiasm for Beyond Jordan. We are always touched by your wealth of theological knowledge and your deep love for the Lord that blesses us daily.

And Elaine, we also want to thank you for the friendship and support you have extended to us all. We have enjoyed the added benefit of getting to know you and your precious son Hayden.
